James McGregor of West Register street Edinburgh Ca 1835
A good and rare mahogany 8″ dial clock with twin fusee movement striking on a bell. The movement is of a bracket clock type layout with a bracket to attach it rigidly into the case and on a seatboard perhaps originally designed for such. The crisply carved mahogany case which is a good rich colour is festooned with acorns and oak leaves – but no evidence of a thistle !
