Andrew Dickie of Edinburgh Ca 1770

It is rare  to see a square dial on an Edinburgh clock and the signature on this one on the very margin of the dial suggests that Andrew Dickie wasn’t certain either ! In fact this is one of two square dial Edinburgh Longcases we have for sale (the other being a regulator by James Bruce ), both of almost identical construction. We have had several clocks by Dickie over the last 30 years . Like the others  it has a well engraved brass dial with original cut steel hands supported by a movement made to the same superior standard.  In this instance we have left the dial untouched because it compliments the case so well just as it is.
