Based on an idea from Benjamin Franklin and through James Ferguson he additionally showed that things don’t have to be complicated as he demonstrated with this simple pulley arrangement providing longer duration. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best. More to follow……

This extremely rare clock however was made 5 years before and has involved some famous figures in the world of science and horology. Private collection.
