A fine late 19th century oval cased carriage clock, the French eight-day movement with hour repeat and striking the hours and half hours on a blued steel gong. The richly gilded oval case is profusely engraved throughout with scrolling foliate and floral decoration, repeated to the elegantly shaped carrying handle. The clock is further fitted with an alarm mechanism and subsidiary enamel alarm dial. Regulation is via a beautifully finished silvered platform escapement.
