Cartier Pendulette Travel Clock – Circa 1980

£1,250.00

The Cartier Pendulette Ref. 7517 is a refined Swiss-made travelling alarm clock from the 1980s, produced during a period when Cartier extended its celebrated design language beyond wristwatches into luxury desk accessories. Combining practicality with unmistakable Cartier styling, this compact clock features a gilt metal case beautifully framed by lapis lazuli, whose deep ultramarine colour and natural golden pyrite inclusions lend every example a unique appearance. The classic white dial is adorned with black Roman numerals, a chemin de fer minute track and blued steel hands, echoing the timeless aesthetic found across many of Cartier’s most iconic timepieces. Powered by a reliable Swiss quartz movement, the Ref. 7517 offered exceptional accuracy together with an integrated alarm function, making it as practical as it was elegant.

A Small and Fine George II Walnut Bracket Clock A A Small and Fine George II Walnut Bracket Clock

A particularly refined and scarce small-scale George II walnut bracket clock signed John Woodman, London, the square-arched dial measuring a mere 12 cm across - a notably diminutive format for a clock of such quality. The case, which is proportioned with admirable restraint, is enriched by the warmth of the walnut veneers without overwhelming the compact form. At just 38cm in height, it possesses a jewel-like presence, embodying the elegance associated with mid-18th century London craftsmanship.
