Thomas Muddle 1671 -1756.
A rare Lantern clock by this maker who was a part of a Sussex dynasty of clockmakers stretching through the centuries. His parents were married at St Michaels church in Lewes on 25th August 1664. His father also a clockmaker and Blacksmith died in 1688 when Thomas Jr was only 16 years old. Despite this he went on to become a noted clockmaker with some fine longcase clocks still extant by him. This Lantern clock still with its original escapement has spent it ‘s most recent years in Holland .
