George Purcheon, Glasshouse, Leeds. Antique Stick Barometer C1830

A really charming mahogany stick barometer from this provincial maker listed in Banfield as working from 1820-1840 at The Glasshouse Leeds. The main body inlaid with two long lines of boxwood terminating in two dots. The paper scales in good original condition signed for the maker under a naive swan neck pediment. The base terminates in a flat oval cistern cover with beautiful fan inlay.
