W.F.Bruce Antiques have a wide range of good-quality antique clocks dating from the early 17th to 19th century. Often rare and unusual pieces, they are presented not just for their originality but also for their sense of style.
Additionally, we usually have a number of longcase clocks from both East Sussex and West Sussex, but with a special emphasis on Lewes clockmakers. In 2014 we held a special exhibition representing 12 different Lewes clockmakers. We will continue in 2015 with further fine examples.
To complement the Lewes and Sussex clockmakers, we also have a selection of fine regulators and early lantern clocks on display in our galleries.
All clocks are given a minimum two-year guarantee and are delivered and set up personally.
We undertake sympathetic conservation of all types of quality antique clocks from the 17th to the late 19th century are undertaken, using the same traditional hand skills as the clockmakers who made them. In particular, we have an international reputation for our restoration and conservation work on pre-pendulum antique lantern and chamber clocks from the early 17th century.
